Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary

Friday, 16 May

We had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and decided to walk to the old Italian neighborhood of Trastevere. Very charming, with a beautiful cathedral. We crossed the Tiber to get there. We must have walked 6 miles or more today.

On our way back to the hotel, we decided to find the famous cat sanctuary and no-kill shelter. It is on a block containing ancient ruins, and a multitude of cats live there. You can even adopt one, but we don’t think Thistle wants an Italian sister or brother!

Dinner close by the hotel tonight - the largest piece of tiramisu I have ever seen! And delicious!

When we got back to the room, the tour information had been delivered, so tomorrow we meet up with the group when we go on our first tour with them.
